The origins of Reactivos Para Diagnóstico S.L. (RpD) date back to 1995, when Daniel Asensio launched a project to manufacture culture media for microbiological analysis. The company began operations in a 100m² facility located in Hospitalet de Llobregat, Barcelona.
From the outset, the business model was exclusively focused on the manufacturing of culture media, establishing a production strategy under OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) conditions. This approach enabled RpD to forge partnerships with various well-established brands in the sector, both nationally and internationally.
In 2001, as a result of the company’s continuous sales growth and the need for expanded production capacity, RpD relocated to Sentmenat, Barcelona, where its headquarters remain today.
Currently, RpD operates a 7,500m² facility in Sentmenat, housing Production, Logistics, and Laboratory divisions. The company has also expanded internationally, establishing subsidiaries in Italy and Thailand to further strengthen its global presence.
